i had the previous version too (w202) which died after 3 months. sony ended up refunding me. while waiting for these, i tried a knock-off version from ebay, but those never stayed on my head. even though the old version died, i loved them, and was holding my breath for these.

first, the audio quality seems better (the old pair had no bass). i dont have the old pair to compare with, but they seem just the slightest bit bigger (not complaining). i'm assuming thats for different audio components and more water resistance. the jog dial for choosing tracks is now just a lever, so its easier to use. the volume up button is now a bit longer, so you can tell which button is which. and the shuffle switch is now a button. it looks like this button will let you choose a playlist. i haven't tried that feature yet, but my guess is it would let me have a music track playlist while working out, and then an audio book playlist for cardio.

anyway, these are great for working out. they stay on my head while lifting, cardio, abs, etc. i charge them in my car while driving to/from the gym, and i've never had the battery die before a workout was over. not having to deal with wires is great, and its easier just having one device instead of 2 devices synced with bluetooth.

the only reason i didnt give them 5 stars is because longevity is still in question. also surprised they didnt bump the memory up from 2 gig to 4 gig.

Overall, I'm very satisfied with my purchase of this product. I did not expect it to be perfect, yet it has proven to perform very effectively. I really hope Sony never drops this concept and instead keeps on adding improvements in its next generations. I would definitely recommend this product and would buy one with higher capacity if they ever offer it.

I'll make this update plain and simple; If you appreciate tactical, to- the-point and reliable technology..."This is BY FAR the best there is"...I have put this MP3 through the grinder in my workouts and I'm still impressed.

I admit I was a bit skeptical at first given the size of it and the price. At first it felt uncomfortable and completely foriegn. After the second run I went on using these, they started to feel hardly noticeable. I could feel they were there but I no longer worried that they would fall off.And at first I was trying to shove them too far into my ears which explains most of the discomfort. The sound is more than adequate for this purpose and the charge holds for a lot longer than I would expect. It's never come close to needing a charge while I was running or biking, but I also wasn't doing a marathon or a century. I have now worn them running and biking and IMO, they are the best all-in-one unit available without breaking the bank. That's not to say the design couldn't be improved upon which is why I gave it 4 stars. The ear pieces need to be substantially smaller and the head wrap thing should be adjustable. But best of all... NO WIRES!
